A clear and simple definition for graft?
I have checked a few different sources and each vary. Does anyone know a clear, simple definition?

There are several different definitions depending on the context.
It can mean "corruption", or it can mean "attaching one part to another"

There are at least two definitions of graft that I know of - one is the payment of monies or other benefits for personal gain (like bribery) and the other is the physical union of two different biological elements, like a skin graft or making a modification to a fruit tree by adding a lemon tree branch to an orange tree to have one tree that produces both. It is also a way of creating hybrid varities of various things like wheat, corn or roses or other flowers.
