Bringing your phone overseas without using your wireless plan?

So I'm going to the Bahamas for a few days in a few weeks and I would like to bring my phone with me so I can use it during my down time in the hotel. I will strictly use it on wifi and I know how to shut off my data but how can I prevent my phone from receiving calls/texts while I am there?

It depends on the handset; typically this is called "airplane mode."

Whether or not you can separately activate the WiFi radio will depend on the specific model of your cellphone.

You should either read your device's instruction manual or contact your cellular service provider's customer service help desk for further assistance.

    Good luck.
