To put more alcohol inside my body.

Getting intoxicated is like running on a treadmill. Our body (the treadmill) is eliminating alcohol from the second we begin drinking (running) it. In order to get intoxicated you must drink more alcohol than your body can process. To stay intoxicated you must continue to add more alcohol other wise you fall off the back end of the treadmill. If we drink to fast we run into the handle bars...get sick and pass out.

People don't drink alcohol to cure thirst. It's used as an addictive altering substance. That's why it has so much ability to be abused, like drugs.

    because it's an addictive substance

also, alcohol dehydrates you so whether you feel thirsty or not your body is craving fluids

but I really don't think most people drink alcohol to quench their thirst
