Is it a sin to desire to be great before God?

If somebody wants to be better than others in the kingdom or to be more righteous than others?

    No!!

That seems like a weird answer but it is more about improving your own behavior than being better than others.

This is especially true because we don't know how God views other people. We can't see in their hearts or minds! We are not sure about what God is seeing in anyone else. (In fact, we are not even totally sure how God sees us!)

What we are trying to do is to improve our own behavior on earth! Part of that requires us to accept those who are weaker than us in faith or actions. However, we still try to improve our own faith and actions.

We should not judge others! That would be a sin! However we should try as much as possible to improve our own faith and actions!

It's a sin to believe you're better than God Himself, but it's not a sin to become a better person and believe Him as your savior.

its a sin if one is not humble enough to bow to the chosen lord, like lucifer could not do.
