My guess is that they know......

BUT..

Since this is a matter of succession to the throne, and thus critical to the Commonwealth... that information would be considered a state secret...

She refused to be told what gender the baby was, probably because the law was passed stating no matter what gender it was it would one day be the monarch. Before 2011, a girl could only become queen if she had no brothers even if she was the eldest, now she can.
