Internet speed test, help?
So i just took an internet speed test using the site listed below and got a Ping of 13ms, a download speed of 11.03Mbps, and an upload speed of 4.53 Mbps.
Is that good?
And if anyone knows, would you mind explaining what these three tests are for and how they relate to the computer? Thank you!

yes thats a good speed result. however you need to see what data package you are subscribed to from ur isp in order to tell if your speed results are within the expected range.
the way it works is the test downloads a packet of information to a remote server, this is your download speed. it measures how long it takes to download the packet. next it sends an upload packet. again testing the time it takes to send the packet. this is your upload time. the ping time is how long it takes to send and recieve a connection databyte.
the important thing here is to understand how this all ties in together.
when u open a web page, download a song, or play a facebook game, your computer downloads information into what is known as a buffer. when the buffer is emptied, the computer uploads a signal saying, im ready for more data.
the higher the upload speed, the faster the download speed. if you have a ratio of less than 25% between the download and upload times, you have a signal problem somewhere.Source(s): ComStar Computers

If you would have bothered to look on the results page after you ran the test, it showed you how you compare to the average, and also to those in your area. The speeds you are experiencing are OK. The download speed is a little slow for an urban area, but the upload speed is good.

Yeah, that's good. I have DSL and only get about half of that.
