What is the best format to convert MKV videos to?

I'm making a DVD, and all the files I have are MKV. Unfortunately, the program I'm using (Adobe Encore) doesn't take MKV videos. I was wondering which format should I convert my files to without losing quality, or make that much of a difference?

Adobe Encore supports the following video file formats:

    AVI

    MPEG Video (.264, .avc, .mpg, .mpeg, .m2t, .mpe, .mpv, .m2v, .m2s, .mts, .m2ts, .m2p, .m4v, .mp4)

    Flash Video (.flv and .f4v)

    Adobe Dynamic Link Project (.aep)

    Adobe Dynamic Link Project (.prproj)

    Video File (.mxf)

    QuickTime (.mov)

    WMV

I'll suggest you download freeware Any Video Converter to convert your MKV videos to .mp4. It will set the best parameters for you. No worry about losing quality. Then make DVD with Adobe Encore

BTW, it also supports burn videos to DVDs. 100% free. You will like it.
