Zimmerman was the Neighborhood Watch captain of his condo complex in central Florida. Trayvon Martin was a black kid who did not live in the complex, nor did his dad, but his dad's gf did. Zimmerman was on watch in feb. 2012 when Trayvon was walking in his neighborhood on a raining dark night. Trayvon did not identify himself, and the complex had suffered break ins at the hands of a black gang. Trayvon had marijuana in his system, and had been suspended from schools for drugs.
Trayvon was the aggressor here - I am sure Zimmerman asked what he was doing there, in the neighborhood, because Trayvon was a stranger and Trayvon got defensive and attacked him. If there had been no altercation, I would have been on Trayvon's side. But there was, and Zimmerman was beaten badly. He had the right to kill, and he probably saved others from Trayvon's temper. The autopsy showed that Trayvon was on marijuana, which makes you both paranoid and combative.
