I have an insurance question?

I was a passenger in an auto accident, and I am supposed to receive a payout from the drivers auto insurance. However I am concerned whether or not my heath insurance(who paid for my medical bills), will be able to access that money that was offered to me by the auto insurance company. Will they be chasing after the money for reimbursement?

Yes. You cannot be paid twice for the same claim from two different insurance companies - that's double dipping, and it is illegal.

    Absolutely.

When the adjuster offers you a settlement it is for REIMBURSEMENT of the medical bills, any lost wages and pain/suffering.

Just because your health insurance paid, since it was an "accident", they will know or soon find out and come back to you for what they paid. Just like you, the insurance company wants paid and you want paid for your pain/suffering.

Have you gotten any letters from them asking you what the treatment was for, and most importantly, were you in an accident?

Better get all your bills together and when you settle, make sure the adjuster has the same bills, so that the amount they offer is enough to reimburse plus then you will know how much they are offering you for the pain/suffering, that you can keep.

If you told your health insurance company you were there due to a car accident they will be billing you. The other driver will pay you for your medical bills (make sure you give them copies of all your medical bills ) and then you have to pay your bills.
