Why can't I wheelie in second gear?

My motorcycle will not wheelie in second gear. Or at least I can't get it to. I ride a 2006 yamaha fz1 with a two bros slip on. I can clutch up a wheelie in first gear no problem but when I try in second gear it only will come up a few inches. I think it might be because I weigh 225 lbs. Should my bike be able to wheelie in second gear? I ordered a fuel commander to hopefully help with this issue.

If you care about your bike its really best not to wheelie, it only ends up being bad for it.

try sitting further back on the seat. If you sit back far enough, you should be able to wheelie with the engine off.

Are you trying with 1st gear front wheel down?

You can shift your weight back.
