is someday = one day?

the expression someday has the same meaning of one day?

ex.

"I'll be there someday" = "I'll be there one day" ?

    Usually - although like Manana, it may be a polite way of saying it's never going to happen.

    Yes.

    I'd say that "someday" is more used in the US while in England I'd say "one day".

    someday has a strong implication of "maybe"

    They are both ambiguous owing to a lack of specificity and are therefore non-committal (useless).
