R=3a^2b

Since b is on the right-hand side of the equation, switch the sides so it is on the left-hand side of the equation.

3a^2b=R

Divide each term in the equation by 3a^(2).

3a^2b/3a^2=R/3a^2

Simplify the left-hand side of the equation by canceling the common factors.

b=R/3a^2

=> To make b the subject of formula in the equation above, simply requires you to divide both sides by 3a², i.e.

R/3a² = 3a²b/3a²

=> By cancelling 3a² from both the numerator and denominator at the right hand side of the equation above, you'll have
