Do you suppose that there will ever be a stock car racing venue like NASCAR that is fair and legitimate?

Something just like NASCAR but without all the manufactured drama and biased manipulation of every aspect? At the moment, it appears that ARCA is the closest thing we have to this. Wouldn't NASCAR be better if it was run more like a legitimate auto racing venue? Or does everyone really like all the manufactured drama and selective enforcement of the rules, fines and penalties?

I believe it is important to all racing that we go to and support our local race tracks. Or they will go the way of the Drive - In movie, and those were always loads of fun, you know.

Nascar has cut their own throat and has shown us where they are headed for years now. So now more then ever those who enjoy a good race should support your local race tracks.

I think we could replace the Drive - In with a little hanky panky at the race. :-)

You know, you actually made sense for once. I've been a NASCAR fan since Feb of 2004. And while the racing has gotten better than racing from the 70's, 80's, era. NASCARs judgement on when it comes to decision making hasn't.

For instance those teams found with the illegal roof flap spacers, I would have penalized them, and gave them a fine. Not some huge ridiculous fine but some thing like, $2,000 and probably 2pts. Because even if the spacers didn't present any real safety issue or any discernible advantage. They were still "illegal".

A feel bad for those NASCAR fans that only watch NASCAR because they feel like its the only Motorsport out there, they are missing out on so much more.

  • Back in the day there was Trans Am but it fell out of favor for some strange reason, Guess the Red Necks wanted to see the cars go in a circle. This is where some of the greatest pony cars ever made got there birth, The Camaro Z28 built for Trans AM, The Boss Mustang, Built for Trans Am, The Plymouth AAR Cuda, or Dodge Challenger T/A Built for Trans Am, another little company called AMC had there SST, Built for Trans Am, There was another Company now defunct that called there car a Trans Am, Bet you'll never guess what it was built for. and yes you could go buy one of these off the show room floor put a roll cage in it and go race it, Trans Am is still around, but the Red Necks could care less and its up to us to spread the word.

A venue is a place. Nascar is not a venue. Nascar is a sanctioning body. There are many out there that are fair and legitimate. I think the empty seats speak volumes about what Nascar has become.

whenever Corporate America get involved in anything everything fair and ethical goes out the window. Nascar has fallen victim to corporate greed in the name of Entertainment! Real racing can still be had at your local speedways.

I go to my local track on Sat.nights. They fight a lot and have about seven different divisions. I like the hobby stocks and four cylinders. They still have pintos and Vegas running. I used to go to all the big tracks, but like you said, somethings gone wrong.

There is a hint of truth in what you say which is why Formula 1 has become my favorite. Best racing series there is by far.
