    Without a doubt, GANTZ...!

The MC is struck and killed by a subway train, then brought back from the dead (along with others) and sent on violent, bloody missions to kill or be killed by aliens hiding on earth.

They are slaves. They suffer over and over again. If they try to escape or tell anyone, they will die again.

They are given 'points' for their missions, and have no clue as to who is behind it all, or why they were chosen. They are told that if they earn enough 'points' they will be set free, so they keep on killing and killing.

The anime is one of the most brutal, gory and insane ones ever. The manga just finished, and it ran for many more missions than the anime did, so it is complete and you can read the whole thing if you want to after you finish watching the anime.

They also did two live-action films. Incredible special effects. The story varies slightly.
