They are option packages developed by Toyota Racing Development.
On the Tacoma, the available TRD packages are the TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport packages. Both are only available on V6, PreRunners and 4wd Tacomas.
The 2013 TRD Sport package includes:
V6 tow package, sport suspension with Bilstein® shocks, 17-in. alloy wheels with P265/65R17 tires, hood scoop, color-keyed grille surround/bumpers/power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators/door handles/overfenders, sliding rear window with privacy glass, 115V/400W deck-mounted AC power outlet, fog lights, remote keyless entry, cruise control, variable intermittent windshield wipers, overhead console with maplights and sunglasses storage, Sport water-resistant seats with driver lumbar support (passenger-side fold-flat feature delete), metallic-toned instrument panel trim, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls and shifter, dual sun visors with mirrors and extenders, tailgate-handle integrated backup camera 6 linked to an auto-dimming mirror with monitor and outside temperature gauge, TRD Sport graphics
The 2013 TRD Off-Road package includes:
V6 Tow Package, Off-Road Package-Off-road-tuned suspension with Bilstein® shock absorbers, electronically controlled locking rear differential, 16-in. alloy wheels with P265/70R16 BFGoodrich® tires, Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) (4x4 models only) with Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) 20 and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) 20 (HAC and DAC available on 4x4 automatic transmission models only), engine skid plate, front tow hook, 115V/400W deck-mounted AC power outlet, fog lamps, power outside mirrors (Access Cab models only), remote keyless entry system, cruise control, variable-speed windshield wipers, overhead console with maplamps and sunglasses storage, chrome grille surround and rear bumper, color-keyed front bumper and overfenders, sliding rear window with privacy glass, Sport fabric-trimmed front Sport seats with driver's lumbar support (passenger-side fold-flat feature delete), metallic interior trim, leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, leather-trimmed shift lever (automatic transmission models only), dual sun visors with sliding extensions and vanity mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated backup camera 7 display, compass, outside temperature gauge and Homelink® universal transceiver 12, TRD Off-Road Graphics
