Vaginal mesh lawsuits in federal courts are moving along, according to court documents for the federal multidistrict litigations in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia (MDL Nos. 2187, 2325, 2326, 2327 and 2387). The Rottenstein Law Group LLP notes that the next status conference for these MDLs is Aug. 1.
The federal judge overseeing thousands of transvaginal mesh lawsuit claims in U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia, has refused to dismiss punitive damage claims in four bellwether cases in the C.R. Bard vaginal mesh litigation.
The first of four separate federal trials involving problems with Bard Avaulta mesh will begin in June, after the federal judge presiding over thousands of similar vaginal mesh lawsuits denied a request made by plaintiffs to have the first batch of bellwether test cases tried at the same time.
