People's opinions have a lot to do with their upbringing, social circles, and personal experiences. For example, if someone grows up in a mainly white racist community they will be much more likely to be racist because all they know is what they have seen on the news or heard from their fellow racist neighbors. Their opinions are not accurate because they have not experienced any personal contact with someone outside of their race. I think people sound extremely racist when they refer to a race as a whole instead of pointing out the flaws of an INDIVIDUAL. Let's face it, American Indians are the natives of this country and Mexican people are much more similar to them than Caucasians are. The notion that people should go back to their own country is very ignorant because this isn't our country. America is the Melting Pot and contains many different races in which there are extremely bad people in each.
There are other issues with racism that don't come from white people. Racism is kept alive by every race, white people are the poster children for racism though unfortunately.
I grew up around all races. I have had black, mexican, white, & asian best friends. I have seen rich people in every race, and loser people in every race. It bares no truth to say each person in a race is the same. That opinion comes from closed minded, inexperienced individuals who will never know the joy of differences in people.
As for immigration it has always been an issue. We want people to pay taxes to help our country and not be paid illegally or somehow get on government assistance. That is all legislation issues and has nothing to do with race.
