At an age, before she walked,
Her eyes foretold an open heart,
Verified when first she talked.
A gift by fate she would impart..

Childhood held no special rule,
In this she held an ageless soul.
Tactless ones, so often cruel.
If just to hurt in pranks unfold.

Trusting all, she often cried,
But laughter found her feelings mend.
New adventures, plan, decide.
Few precious summers, tomboy friend.

Nature layers, covers ground.
New flower beds with bordered stone
Left untended, can't be found,
Unwritten prose, forgotten songs.
