That unit is NOT filled with oil. Oil use used as a fuel.
There is likely a reason they were getting rid of that unit. It has issues & is no longer safe.
Personally, I'd get rid of it. It could be a fire hazard. And by "getting rid of it", I don't mean sell it to someone else.
Well Stephen, while I would never say I'm always right, and don't mind being corrected in such cases, you should take a closer look at your own replies.
First you say:Something has gotten inside the heater that is cooking off at the high setting.
But then you say: Note: Oil core space heaters are ALL sealed.
So....which is it? ALL sealed, or...something got in it?
I'm just trying to follow your thought process...
