What would Michael Jackson's career be if he had not met Quincy Jones?

Michael is already a star before worked with Quincy with his brothers, but when he finally went with Quincy that's where all the hottest MJ albums came out from "Off the wall" to "Thriller", would he have the same level of success or would he just end up like other Motown artist?

Quincy Jones is a legend full stop.

It's interesting question. But a lot of the biggest stars had some mentor or brilliant producer behind the scenes, i.e. Elvis and Beatles. I do think MJ had his own creative input and his own vision of where he wanted to go.
