Why is it that people say Lebron carried his Cavs to the finals in 07 yet they dont say what Kobe did in 08?

Lebron is always lauded for carrying his weak squad to the finals in 08 yet I never hear people talk about Kobe's 07-08 playoff run. 2nd rd Jazz 33.2 PPG, 7 RPG, 7.2 APG, 49 FG% and he guarded Deron Williams
WCF Spurs 29.2 PPG, 5.6 RPG,3.8 APG 53 FG% and he guarded Tony Parker.

His teammates were Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Vladimar Radmonovich, Derek Fisher starting lineup.
Bench was Sasha Vujacic, Jordan Farmar, Ronny Turiaf, Luke Walton and Ariza played 8 games injured. So basically if you take out Gasol, this is almost similar if not worst than his first round exit teams. ANd he did this against better competition than Lebron faced. In fact Duncan destroyed Gasol in the 08 WCF but the Lakers won that series. All Kobe in his prime needed was an all star big man Gasol and his team was the best and would dominate the West for 3 years running. But haters will hate on him like always.
Update: ANd Pau for that playoffs averaged 16.9 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 4 APG, 53 FG%. Good numbers but nothing special.
Update 2: @baudkarm. Look at the people who played. Except Kobe, which one of those players were even above average defensive players? Odom was one of the most inconsistent players in the league. In the playoffs you need consistent players. Fisher hit one or 2 big shots but was a non factor most of the game. And the bench... show more @baudkarm. Look at the people who played. Fisher hit one or 2 big shots but was a non factor most of the game. And the bench guys , there is nothing special about them. I don't think you understand what Kobe did that year. It was Kobe, an all star Gasol, an inconsistent 6th man turned starter Odom and a bunch of below average role players. Radmonovich and Fisher were also some of the worst defenders at their position and they started on this team. Kobe carried that team all the way to the finals. Lebron's teams always had good defenders at least.
Update 3: @ Rob the Legends, D Fish averaged 10.2 PPG and 2.5 APG in the playoffs that year. That is your great playoff PG. SMH
Update 4: The lakers lost to a stacked Celtics team with 3 future HOFs still playing at a high level. Heck the Celtics bench with House, PG Brown, Posey, etc was far superior to the Laker's bench. And still Kobe helped his Lakers win 2 games.
Update 5: At Steve, Kobe played with better offensive talent because of Gasol but his defenders were not close to what Lebron had in Hughes, Snow , Gooden, Varejao. Kobe was guarding the opponent's best perimter players every series and still putting in work. Kobe was guarding the opponent's best perimter players every series and still putting in work. Lebron had good defenders on the wings to help him AND a massive frontcourt in Ilgaukas, Varejao Gooden trio to rebound.
