I substituted chilli powder for curry powder?

I'm making chilli con carne, and didnt read the name right on curry powder, and mistaked it for chilli powder. The whole point is chilli in chilli (obviously) but i'd already put it in when i noticed, and I dont have any chilli powder on a second look. Even if i did it would've been too late as it wouldve made it twice as spicey. Is curry powder an okay substitute? Will it make it taste weird?

Taste it and see. You can always adjust by either leaving it alone, or adding a compatible seasoning.

You can call it curry chili.

it should be totally interesting!! but now you don't have a chile dish, you have a curry dish, so change the other sides that go with it to middle eastern.
