How do they comprehend written words and letters?
How do they comprehend sign language?

I know some things in sign language and when I see people making those signs I think to myself "Ok, that sign means blahblahblah" but what goes on in a deaf persons head?
Update: I'm not saying deaf people are stupid or can't think right. I just want to know what goes on in their head.
Like, when I see a word I hear it being pronounced in my head. When they see a word how is it interpreted in their head.
