It's far from perfect.
But it's a start.

Pakistan has so much wrong with it now. The military is a politicized organ with shadow powers, often seeking to keep the country in a paralyzed limbo in pursuit of their idea of order. Meanwhile, the main political parties pretty much all suck. Conservative parties typically align with the Taliban and express significant threats to individual and religious freedoms for Pakistan. They only remain popular using high levels of public spending which endear them to the public, like Hezbollah in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the supposedly-leftist PPP is marred by extreme corruption and the inability to live up to its fractured yet once truthful past.
Personally, I think we'll need to wait until at least an entire generation of discredited, horrid old Pakistanis dies off before Pakistan becomes a democracy which it deserves.
