Is Earth turning into Venus?
Venus got to how it is now through greenhouse gasses. Will Earth do the same?

No I don't think so. Venus temperature reaches to a scorching 490 degrees F, Earth won't ever reach that temperature until our sun becomes a red giant in 5 billion years. Scientist's actually discovered that Earth has always had the greenhouse effect because if it didn't earth would be an ice planet and possibly too cold to substain life. The greenhouse gases make Earth a perfect place to thrive. Although, you can have too much greenhouse gases which will cause rising temperatures, there is no way Earth would be exactly like Venus. It's Closer to the sun and has a completely different atomosphere. Just think of Venus as Earths evil twin.

No, the maximum greenhouse effect on Earth is about 30 C hotter than now.
That may occur if there is positive feedback from global warming and enough methane is released to blanket the infrared spectrum.

Sadly, yes. Scientists predicted we only have about 4-7 years before earth is too hot to live on and we will die. Thats why everybody suddenly started saying YOLO a bunch the past couple years

Yep. And soon enough, the Earth will become one with Venus and the two will collide in a beautiful fusion. At least, it would be beautiful if it didnt kill all of us. I give us about 2-3 months more to live.Source(s): Science and stuff

It is becoming more and more like Venus. However, the effects will not be so sudden as to essay in our lifetime, the world will rain pure sulfuric acid and it won't even reach the ground before it evaporates. It would take us nearly 1-2 centuries or more to become another Venus.Source(s): Cosmos By Carl Sagan

This is unlikely, mostly because we know what to avoid - if the Corporations will allow it to be avoided.
