Is eating some candy before running good for you?

I have a track meet tomorrow. Is eating candy good for you because it immediately goes in your blood and gives you energy?

    Don't eat candy before a race, instead carb load by eating things like pasta, you do this the day before a meet.Get a good nights rest and eat a good breakfast.

    The sugar burns so quickly that the only effects would come from having too much. You may end up on a sugar crash in the middle of the race. You should do what the others have suggested and eat carbs the night before the race.

    I get shaky and have a Hershey's kiss right before. But have carbs as your meal
