Because she was. God placed a seed in her. God is trinity (3) the father, the son and the holy ghost. The holy ghost is the spirit of God as given to those who believe that Jesus Christ died for us. When we are filled with the holy ghost we are blessed with wisdom and understanding in placed that we could not before. If you accept Jesus into your live truly as you savior and not just as some TEST. Then you will be blessed with the knowledge of this understanding because God will give it to you.Source(s): Christian

This is how it is worded in the Bible:
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you [Mary], and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."Source(s): Luke 1:35

Because she was a virgin when she became pregnant. God revealed Himself to her and asked if she wanted the responsibility of mothering the Son of God. After her consent and nine months later, the immaculate virgin birthed jesus. If God created the universe, I am sure he could embody himself in a human being just as easily. In other words, you may not understand how it happened or is possible, but I am not going to comprehend everything God does...
