There are those from the South, who claim it represent thier historical past, pride and heritage. However, to others it represents a time when humanity in America; lost its bearings, soul, and it's becon of light, dimmed at and all time low. Imagine legalized sex trade; murder; kidnapping; forced harse slave labor; and a false sense of pride based upon skin tone as your only cornerstone. The litmus test and varsity of historical value of the Confedarate Flag, it's debase, or validness is left up to one's personal values and interpersonal sense of integrity.

It was what the Confederacy used for their national flag during the Civil War. Now, it's generally a sign of Southern pride, though it does have some negative connotations.
