Cold fronts are the leading edge of a cold air mass. Usually associated with a high pressure system. A cold front pushes warn air up very quickly creating very tall clouds. Heavy rain can be expected! But only for a brief period of time. After the cold front passes, temperatures will drop, and pressure will rise. You con probably expect clearer weather after the front passes.Source(s): school
