Is 12 too old????????

My younger sister is 12 and she wants to start playing REAL hockey like on a league with weekly practices and all that jazz.

She adores hockey and really wants to play.

She knows how to skate good too, except she is learning how to skate backwords now. She skates every Saturday and sunday

I play "freestyle hockey" with her meaning we just play for fun with a stick and puck at the local rink in wintertime at the park.

Do you think that she is too old to sign up for hockey lessons?? Most people I know sign up at age 5-6.......

Help please and oh yeah im 14 by the way ^_^

Update:

btw we live in Canada so yeah hockey is played aloooooot here

    go for it

my niece started at 11 and played 3 seasons

    2 @ G12U -- 1 @ G14U (replaced our JV)

and that was with never playing the game before

she formerly was a dancer and only skated a few times

she tried it because she thought it looked fun (younger brother is a goalie)

she'll never know if she's good unless she tries

No, if shes talented shes talented. And all that matters is if there is a team you can play on because hockey isnt really played much.
