What is a decent settlement amount to quit your job for?

    They aren't offering you a severance package? Hmmmm. I'd have to think about how much money I'd get if they laid me off instead, from unemployment.

    If it were me, I'd google your state and unemployment benefits, to see what you would qualify for, and how much you would get. Depending on what state you are in, benefits can last over a year:

    I'd also look into how the settlement would be taxed? If it's taxed like a bonus, they take a huge chunk.

    I just have a spidey sense that you'd be better off asking them to lay you off, so you can collect unemployment. Just do your research and make sure you would qualify.
