There aren't really any "best" brands of cheese- cheese is like wine, it's really more of a personal preference, and there are so many kinds out there, that you could probably spend the rest of your life trying a different one every day. Personally, I can't stand Cracker Barrel or any of the ones you get at the store. If you go to a good cheese shop, you'll be able to tell the difference right away. And for god's sake, please don't ever use the weird "shredded mozzarella" or the ones that come in a packaged "block" in your recipes, unless absolutely necessary. Fresh mozzarella is the best thing on earth, usually it's packaged in water or saran wrap, doesn't keep too long, and that other stuff is a travesty. Just sayin.
