What does 'wheep' mean?

I read an english text ( it's my foreign language) and i don't know this word's meaning. Can you explain me? it would be important!! Thank you :)

wheep is - to give forth a prolonged whistle
Examples:
“I heard the "wheep" of the shaft, and fancied I heard it strike; but the steed kept on!”
we could hear the quick wheep of wings.”
a scarcely audible "wheep" from his thin lips

I know what makes me wheep. It's morons who have no idea how to spell the simplest of words and can't string a sentence together properly. Did any of you idiots go to school?? I suggest you all go back.
