How is a car tested for mpg?

    Hmmm... Miles per gallon. Hmmm... Miles driven divided by amount of fuel used...

    The way I do it is fill the fuel tank.

    Reset the trip odometer.

    Drive.

    Fill the fuel tank and write down the mileage on my trip odometer.

    Divide that by the amount of gallons needed to fill my fuel tank.

    Miles divided by gallons... HHm mm.. Yup, that's how it works!

    They cruise at like 45 or 50 on a flat road n pump premium to get those high. Numbers no stop n go

    IOW they use a special chassis dyno, not actual driving.
