I need the answer because I have science home work

the rough endoplasmic reticulum is studded with ribosomes (hence why it looks rough) and it wurrounds the nucleus of the cell.
the smooth endoplasmic reticulum just chills in the cytoplasm
My answer would probably be nucleus (google a picture) because your questions ask which 'organelle' (singular term) it surrounds,
There are millions of ribosomes inside each cell. some are attached to the rough endoplasmic reticulum like I mentioned earlier, some aren't, so in my opinion, Ribosome wouldn't be a very accurate answer (unless the question isn't worded properly)Source(s): bio student
