The DHS ammo purchase was for 450 million rounds, not 1.2 or 1.8 billion rounds - for 10 years at maximum...?
that's for EVERY agent of DHS, border security, ATF, and all their training and target practice.
That can be thousands of rounds per year per agent.
"Hollow point" bullets are just standard bullets used by nearly every PD in the Country.
Can conservatives not find any irrelevant thing to turn into a huge anti-American conspiracy?
"i do not care" - no they didn't change the order. The claim is a lie, as always with fake right wing news.

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) says "that if you go through the DHS purchases “without fear” it appears the government is “doing exactly what they need to do.” DHS points out that 148 million rounds of ammo were purchased in 2010, with that number going down to 108 million in 2011 and 103 million in 2012." Fox News
"DHS entered into a contract that allows them to purchase up to 450 million rounds of 40 caliber ammunition over the next five years. They cannot exceed 450 million rounds and are not required to purchase 450 million rounds. Basically, they have a tab with a manufacturer to order more rounds as they are needed over the next five years — not a one-time ammunition order." Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R., Georgia)
"In fact, contracts like this one saved taxpayers $336 million in FY2011 alone" Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R., Georgia)Source(s): http://foxnewsinsider.com/2013/03/22/watch-sen-tom... http://westmoreland.house.gov/index.php?option=com...

Your referred to article says a million.6 billion, and for 5 years. The 450 million is what they are authorized to purchase, and back, that's over 5 years. you incredibly could be careful while calling human beings liars. At any fee, the timing is unlucky. human beings have been particular to scream, while this develop into added to the panic paying for of the worriers on the wonderful. it is not undemanding as heck to purchase even a brick of twenty-two LR, or effortless forged bullets (no longer the entire cartridge, yet only the chew of lead) recently. There on no account seems to be a shortage of conspiracy theories.

Hey, it's since been proven that the ammunition shortage is due to speculative purchase! Massive bulk purchases coupled with panic buying set conditions up for a shortage. This goes all the way to local dealers. A sporting goods dealer i'm familiar with is taking offers from customers and is ordering ammunition for supply to them only. Presently he's getting $1.20 per round of TULA .223 ammunition made in russia. You can ask all you want about ammunition, but if you haven't prepaid, you don't get the ammunition!

If its different now they just changed the initial order. You do not see the problem it matters what type of people they are not what type of guns they have. If they were good people then why would it be a issue if they bought that many rounds?
