    If any single digit after a decimal is repeating, the fraction is that number over 9.

    0.1111111 = 1/9

    0.222222 = 2/9

    0.333333 = 3/9 (or 1/3)

    0.444444 = 4/9

    And so on. So

    1.222222 = 1 and 2/9, or 11/9.

    Let x = 1.2222222222222...

    Then 10x = 12.2222222222...

    Subtract the above equations.

    9x = 11

    Divide by 9.

    x = 11/9
