What is the pain in my palm under my thumb?

I have a pain in the fatty area of my palm right under my thumb. It hurts quite a bit and seems to radiate down my arm. This has been happening on and off for awhile. It generally happens when I open a jar, turn a door knob, or most recently squeeze the handles on my snow blower. What is this? Just a pulled muscle or something?

This is most likely ripped tissue in that part of your hand. And if it isn't the next thing i would imagine is a pulled muscle from working it to hard.

Broken bone? I don't know, see a doctor.
