what is the best way to put out a kitchen fire?

    First option, super fast and no mess to clean up: drop a close-fitting lid on the pan.

    Second option (first if the fire is not in a pan): spread baking soda on the fire

    Third option: pull the pin, aim the extinguisher at the base of the flames and pull the trigger.

    Pour soda on it. You can make your own pretty can filled with soda. A Pringles can works well. You can cover the can with wallpaper or contact paper, fill with soda and then cut large holes in the top.

    if you have a fire in a pan or a pot, you smother the fire by putting a lid on it.

    smother it with a pan lid or baking soda
