How to detach my YouTube account from Google Plus?

I was meddling about with the settings on my YouTube account the other day, and I think I've accidentally fused my YouTube and Google Plus.

I don't even have Google Plus, but I think I just created one and of some reason I have to use that instead of my YouTube account. I get Google Plus messages in my YouTube inbox, a strange new interface and I don't seem to be getting my YouTube messages at all. I really need to know how to revert back to the style I had before Google decided to mess around with me. Help!

First go to the drop down menu in the top right and click, Settings.

    Settings> Overview

Then next to your avatar or "emblem" and under your email there should be a button that will "de-link" it from google +.

Remove youtube from your g+ account contributor section and edit the both profile separately and remove each others information.
