How Dickens books were bound?
I heard in class that people who would buy the serialized Dickens novels would pay to have them bound in books, and that Dickens would get a cut for each time they rebound it. Does anyone have a reference on the internet to go along with this? I've been searching and can't find anything.

Not likely. Yes, they were serialized but how would Dickens know who to collect from. He probably got paid the same way authors get paid today, a flat rate plus (maybe) so much for each copy sold.
