Why don't municipalities realize that the way to keep from becoming ghetto is to have high property taxes?

so that low income people(minorities/white trash) can't afford to live there?

When you only make 16,000 a year, and the property taxes are 10,000 a year, you might think twice about moving to certain towns and neighborhoods..

All around my city are suburbs that started out beautiful, and ended up ghetto.

Most who would make an area "ghetto" are not property owners.

that is what rich people do to get rid of others who they deem undesirable.

historically caucasians in the past moved as more people of color came into their neighborhood.

the ghettos are partially based on racism.

in a ghetto they rent not own.

Most low income people live in public housing projects, not rented/owned estate.
