Why does my leg hurt when I walk?

I had a track meet two days ago and I may have not stretched as well as I should have but I didn't feel too much pain in my leg. The next day it feels as though it is really sore and I couldn't walk. So with every step I took with my left leg the outside would hurt and it would be a small long strip from my ankle to my knee. My other leg doesn't even hurt at all. It still hurts as much as it did yesterday. Also it hurts if I move my foot to a pointed position.
