How can I develop an app or widget that updates?

I want a widget for my phone (and friends) that merely transmits the number on the table half way down the page showing how many CFS is flowing in the river. That's it. How hard is that and how do I do it?

Good luck getting one on a iphone. You can't do much with those as far as customization goes. If you wanted one you could really customize like that you should have got a android. Not too late to check those phones out if you want one with more freedom to customize.
