How does one find out what size of fan belt to get for a cooler?
Trying to find out how or what you measure to get the right size fan belt for a cooler?

measure, or use a string, set it in the fwd or loose position. wrap the string and tie it. take it in and get a belt 1 1/2" longer. dont throw away the sleeve because if it doesnt work they will exchange it.
i do not miss swamp coolers 1 bit.

Does the unit have a belt that has worn out? If so, there should be info printed on it that will help.
Check the maker's literature, it may be there.
If the unit is not a common unit or one you modified, then you need to know the circumference of the belt by measuring the length from one pulley through the other pulley and back to the point where you started to measure. Also note the pulley's groove thickness. From this, a belt can be procured.

dodge put relays on the fan itself it should be in the middle hooking them together it might have went bad the high speed fan for the ac should only kick on when the ac is turned on hope this helps
