Each party has a chance at winning the presidency every 4 years. The next chance will be in 2016. Writing either party off this early is just partisan BS.

After the 1974 post-Watergate midterm elections, many pundits predicted the Republicans were finished. 6 years later, we elected Reagan.

Though not as widespread, there were pundits that who said the same about the Democrats after Kerry lost in 2004. 4 years later, we elected Obama.

    For Rick --

What you said about a party not winning more than 2 consecutive terms has generally been true since FDR. However the Republicans did with 3 therms once. In 1988, Bush senior was elected for one term after Reagan's two.

Okay, a few things. One, Obama was going to win from the get-go. Romney never had a chance. The polls in the week leading up to the election were skewed by false republican momentum after the debates. Debates do not change election results; they skew polls. If they actually helped people win elections, then Kerry would have won in 04. The polls from months and months before the election wound up being most accurate. Romney never had a chance.

Now that that illusion is cleared up, let's look at the republican's chance in 2016. Biden will not win. He's a great right-hand man and a fighter, but I don't want him leading the country. Hillary, however, WILL win if she runs. Her momentum is too powerful, and she won't take any crap from republicans, like Barry tends to do. I don't see any republican candidates touching her. If she doesn't run, we could very well have a republican in the white house. If she does, my dear right-winged friends, hold your breath until 2024.

I'd give them 8-12 years by that point it is a possibility enough genuninely smart republicans could break the chain of conformity as a see it in the party that everyone has to follow what the primary figure in the party says so to speak. As to how to do that realizing that they should not be as connected as they are with the church's morality finally understanding that pro-capitalist platform and religion are like FIRE AND ICE. Be less encouraging for a border fence while immigration ZERO. Along with eliminating these 2 social avenues they can still part of Reagan's economic ideals but trickle-down economics needs to go. They can be a laissez-faire hands out of my personal life party for both typical Americans and Businesses if any of them took any of this to heart.

Every family has one on social security, paying on a student loan, working for the government, serving in the military, living on food stamps, drawing unemployment, disabled, or a relative working a low paying job after losing their previous high paying position. One of the above will be found in your family somewhere. Yes, after paying 6 figures into a a retirement fund (social security) throughout 40 years of employment, wounded fighting for your country, going to universities needing a loan, knowing that your employer paid vast amount of money through the years in a layoff fund for you (unemployment), and knowing that SS was also a disability insurance, then, you certainly feel entitled. As long as they refer to them as using YOUR tax dollars, feeding off of the wealthy, spreading the wealth around, and do nothing wanting something for nothing; you will never see another Republican President again. As far as the Social Security being a large part of the deficit is the same as saying your house note is a large part of your bills. They borrowed their money out of our social security fund and they are having to pay it back!!!

One would think 8 years of Libs phucking up the economy would be enough to make a Republican a " shoe in " for 2016 but the stinking Lefties seem to dig it ?

They had a very good chance this year, but picked a job killing overly rich stuck up snob that just wanted to work for the 1% instead of someone who wanted to help the rest of us fix our country.

2016. Hopefully, Americans will have wised up to the destruction caused by following Democrat policies. If not, I don't think we'll make it to the 2020 elections. In fact I am a little doubtful about us making it until the 2016 elections.
