What is the difference of perfume and cologne?

Perfume is the strongest and the longest lasting fragrance, Cologne is a bit weaker.
Perfume is a layered fragrance, while Cologne is a single-scented fragrance. Cologne is milder than perfume, but it can be over-applied.
EDIT: Cologne is not always only for men! There are colognes for women too!

One is spelled how it sounds the other isn't for one thing. But typically cologne is made for guys or girls and perfume is girls only. Usually perfume fills up the room and is more pleasant when it's present. Cologne is usually just comes on much stronger than you want it to most of the time
