Ada is the ideal Emerson "bookwork" in Cold Mountain (just as Rudy serves to be her "experience" to achieve "genius"), right?

So isn't it strange that Ada's horse's name is Ralph and her cow's name is Waldo, the first two parts of Emerson's name?

Could you explain why this is (if at all) significant to Frazier's argument?
