    Many Southerners believed the newly elected President Lincoln would abolish slavery throughout the US.They wanted their own independent country where they could preserve slavery as a legal institution for the foreseeable future.

    2:

    Union - The Northern federal government side

    Confederate - the seceding states in the South.

    All the Confederate states were slave states.

    1. The South seceded because of the fight over state's rights.

    2. The Union was the North, and the Confederate was the South.

    3. All the states above Virginia were part of the North. All the states on the south end, including Virginia, were the south. All of the South had slavery, and a few of the northern states did as well, tell the end of the war. Most of the Northern states didn't have slavery though.

    1. You should have completed the assignment Saturday.

    There's no excuse for waiting this long.

    2. You should have paid attention in class. It's clear you didn't because these questions are incredibly basic.

    Honestly, did you ever stop talking to Mary and Johnny in class?

    3. Wikipedia will provide this information. There are real questions that need answering.

    Involuntary Servitude is definitely slavery. Wikipedia says: Involuntary servitude is a u . s . criminal and constitutional term for a man or woman laboring against that man or woman's will to earnings yet another, decrease than some form of coercion. The thirteenth substitute to the form made this unlawful.

    Read your textbook. Seriously just go to the index in the back and look up all of these words and the answers are all there.
