My Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD can access the internet at home via my home wifi network. With permission, I have the same access at friends' homes, and can utilize the free wifi at work, school, and at many businesses such as Starbucks, Target stores, and Home Depot.

With the internet access, I can check my email, surf Youtube, view Netflix, use Skype, stream Pandora music, as well has reach out to virtually any site that my computer can.

Here's some videos demonstrating the hows and whats of internet access on a Kindle Fire.

Hehe, yes, I'm on mine right now. It's obviously not free though, you need your own WiFi network.
